New York Riptide Place Franchise Tag On Four-Time NLL All-Pro Callum Crawford

Uniondale, NY (July 18, 2022) – The New York Riptide announced today that the team has placed the franchise tag on four-time National Lacrosse League All-Pro forward Callum Crawford, and it has been accepted and signed. A 16-year NLL veteran, Crawford finished the 2021-22 season with 88 points on 39 goals and 49 assists in 15 games. On February 26, Crawford became the 10th player in NLL history to score 1100 career points, and on March 26, became the eighth player in NLL history to achieve 700 career assists.

In the 2019-20 season, Crawford earned NLL All-Pro First Team honors this season and was an MVP finalist as a member of the New England Black Wolves. The 6-foot-3 righthander led the league with 76 points on 33 goals and 43 assists in just 11 games before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19. For his career, Crawford has played in 231 games and recorded 1,137 points on 429 goals and 708 assists. His helpers total have him tied for eighth all-time in League history. He also has scooped up 974 loose balls during his career.

Crawford has had 11 seasons with 70 or more points in his career, including two of 100 or more. His career-high 115 points came in 2016 when he was a member of the Colorado Mammoth and he also recorded 109 during the 2019 season with New England. He had a career-high 48 goals in 2019 and has scored 30 or more in seven of his 15 seasons, including each of the last five. In 2016, Crawford had a career-high 83 assists, which ties for the second-most in a single season in the league history books. He has dished out 50 or more assists in seven seasons during his career. Selected by the Calgary Roughnecks with the 18th overall pick in the 2005 NLL Entry Draft, Crawford has played for eight teams during his career. In addition to his First Team honor in the 2019-20 season, he was an NLL All-Pro Second Team honoree in 2013, 2016 and 2019 as well.
