ORLIN & COHEN POSTGAME REPORT: CRAWFORD’S 7 POINT PERFORMANCE HELPS THE RIPTIDE SOAR PAST THE FIREWOLVES IN THEIR SECOND STRAIGHT WIN

Uniondale, NY-  The New York Riptide (4-8) welcomed Ron John, Brent Noseworthy, and Tyler Digby to the lineup tonight, and with the new defensive bodies, the Riptide captured their second straight win. The Riptide’s team effort took down the Albany FireWolves (6-9) 15-6.

Callum Crawford’s four goals and three assists put him past the 700 assist mark, making him the eighth player in NLL history to reach that milestone. Jeff Teat had another outstanding three goal performance making his push for ROTY that much more prominent.

The first quarter was a back and forth battle, with Teat opening scoring for the Riptide. The scoring continued as Teat picked up his second, and Fox netted his first. Albany went on a three goal run to take the lead at the end of the first.

The Riptide then went on a five goal run in the second quarter, with Teat earning his 7th hat trick of the season. McArdle, Kearnan, Crawford and captain Dan Macrae all added goals of their own creating a 8-4 lead going into the second half.

The Riptide continued their scoring run into the third quarter with Crawford adding two more, and faceoff specialist Jay Thorimbert adding his first as well. New York’s defense held Albany to only two goals in the second half, while their offense added another four in the final quarter.

The Riptide return home next weekend to face off against the Philadelphia Wings April 2nd, at 8pm EST. The game will be available to watch on MSG+, and ESPN+, and listen to on WRHU 88.7 FM, WRHU.org and the WRHU iPhone App. Live stats and periodic in-game updates will be available via Twitter @NewYorkRiptide.
