Riptide Acquire Defenseman Curtis Conley from Albany

UNIONDALE, NY (January 20, 2023) – New York Riptide announced today that the club has traded left-handed defenseman Leo Stouros to the Albany FireWolves in exchange for right-handed defenseman Curtis Conley and a third round pick in 2025.

Stouros joined the Riptide ahead of the 2021-2022 campaign where he appeared in 16 games, tallied 3 assists, 60 loose balls and 10 caused turnovers. The 28-year-old was originally acquired by the Riptide in August of 2020, along with a second round pick in 2021, in exchange for a first round pick in 2021.

Conley, now in his sophomore season, appeared in 8 games last season with the Albany FireWolves where he recorded two assists, scooped 13 loose balls, and caused six turnovers. The 5’9”, 195lbs Ottawa, Ontario native is a former third round, 40th overall pick from the 2020 NLL entry draft.

“We are excited to welcome Curtis to the New York Riptide,” said Riptide EVP & General Manager Rich Lisk. “Curtis adds grit and depth to our backend but most importantly he represents the right type of player we want for our organization.”

Conley will be placed on the active roster and is expected to join the Riptide this weekend in Albany as they take on the FireWolves, Saturday at 7:00pm at the MVP Arena in Albany.
