Riptide Acquire Suitor From New England

NEW YORK, November 19, 2019 – The New York Riptide announced today that the team has acquired veteran Andrew Suitor from the New England Black Wolves.

In exchange, the team sent a conditional fourth round selection in the 2022 NLL Entry Draft to New England.

He fits the mold that we are building of a gritty locker room guy who fans on Long Island are going to really like.”

Last season, Suitor saw action in 18 games for the Black Wolves, picking up 10 points on three goals and seven assists while also scooping up 84 loose balls and causing 21 turnovers. In 120 career games, he has 114 points with 57 goals and 57 assists to go along with 699 loose balls and 142 caused turnovers.

Originally selected fourth overall in the 2010 NLL Entry Draft, Suitor was a member of the 2011 All-Rookie Team. In 2012, he was named Transition Player of the Year and was a member of the All-Pro First Team. In four career playoff games, he has one goal and 36 loose ball pickups along with three caused turnovers.

The Riptide will open the team’s inaugural NLL season on December 7 in Halifax against the Thunderbirds and will take to the turf for the first time at NYCB LIVE, home of Nassau Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum, on Saturday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m. against the Saskatchewan Rush.
