Riptide Fall In New England

Uncasville, Conn. – Gale Thorpe and Tyson Gibson each had five points but it was not enough as the New York Riptide fell 21-11 to the New England Black Wolves on Friday evening.

Thorpe (2 goals, 3 assists) got the scoring started for New York and Connor Kelly (1 goal, 3 assists) followed him to give the Riptide a 2-0 advantage. However, New England rattled off 11 consecutive goals to take a 11-2 lead and never looked back.

Gibson (1 goal, 4 assists) was joined in the scoring column by Dan Lomas (2 goals, 1 assist), Tyler Digby (2 goals, 2 assists) Kieran McArdle (1 goal), Andrew Suitor (1 goal), Jean-Luc Chetner (1 goal, 2 assists) and Travis Longboat (3 assists).

Callum Crawford led the way for New England with 14 points (5 goals, 9 assists) while Andrew Kew added nine (3 goals, 6 assists) and Reilly O’Connor had eight (6 goals, 2 assists).

The Riptide will be back in action next on Saturday when they open the home slate at NYCB LIVE at 7:30 p.m. against the Saskachewan Rush.
