Jeff Teat: A Role Model On & Off The Floor

Being the #1 overall draft pick has its benefits, but the accolade also comes with responsibilities. This “added pressure” acts as a deterrent for many professional athletes, as it can prove too overwhelming for some and negatively impact their careers. However, this is not the case for Jeff Teat. Jeff was drafted #1 overall in the 2020 NLL draft and the 2021 PLL draft. Teat’s professional career has placed him in somewhat uncharted waters, as only three players in the history of professional lacrosse have been #1 overall draft picks in both leagues. Currently in his third season in the NLL, Teat has emerged as one of the brightest stars in the game, both on and off the field. In the last season, Jeff Teat tied the NLL record for points with 136, achieving this feat in only his second season in the NLL.
