New York Riptide Partners With Q30 Innovations For 2021-22 Season

Q30’s Q-Collar is helping protect Riptide players from the effects of repetitive head impacts

Uniondale, NY (February 23, 2022) – The New York Riptide announced a partnership with Q30 Innovations to help protect their athletes on the field and to help build awareness around the Q-Collar, the first and only FDA-cleared sports equipment that helps protect athletes’ brains during head impacts.  As an Official Partner of the Riptide, the Q-Collar will receive brand visibility during game play and through signage and in-game announcements at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

“Keeping our players safe and healthy is our top priority, which is why we partnered with Q30,” said Rich Lisk, GF Sports and Entertainment Executive Vice President. “As we look at different ways to optimize player performance, the most important thing is keeping them in the lineup and on the field. The Q-Collar offers an added layer of protection for our players and we feel lucky to have it.”

Bryce Tolmie, a Hofstra graduate and defender for the Riptide is an early advocate of the Q-Collar’s protective benefits, “I’m really excited to have been introduced to the Q-Collar and be able to use it. Even in the brief couple of games that I have used it, I have noticed a difference. With all the research the company has done, I truly believe in the Q-Collar.”

Since 2012, Q30 has worked with leading medical and academic institutions to research and develop the Q-Collar. Over 25 pre-clinical and clinical studies, shows the Q-Collar safely and effectively helps protect the brain from effects of repetitive head impacts. The Q-Collar received FDA authorization in February 2021, and officially launched in the United States in September 2021. The Q-Collar is now available for athletes ages 13 and older who are at risk of brain injury during contact sports.

“We’ve seen a lot of interest from lacrosse players at all levels, so it’s exciting to work with a professional organization like the Riptide that is leading the way for player safety,” said Tom Hoey, co-CEO, Q30 Innovations. “We’re looking forward to working together to help their athletes – and the next generation of lacrosse players they inspire – play more safely and at their optimum.”

The Riptide continue their 2021-22 season at Nassau Coliseum on Saturday, February 26 at 7:30 p.m. To purchase tickets, click here or head to newyorkriptide.com/tickets. For more information, or to purchase a Q-Collar, visit qcollar.com.
