ORLIN & COHEN POSTGAME REPORT: RIPTIDE FALL TO WARRIORS 16-9

Jeff Teat scored three goals on Saturday night, staying on top of the NLL’s goal scoring race with 54, but the Riptide would fall 16-10 to the Vancouver Warriors in a game crucial to the Riptide’s playoff hopes.

Connor Kearnan opened the scoring for the Riptide, and the team would lead 5-3 early in the second quarter, before five goal run by the Warriors that shifted the momentum of the game.

The Warriors, lead by Ryan Martel (4G, 5A), Adam Charlambides (4G, 4A), and Keegan Bal (3G, 5A), had one of their best offensive performances of the season, outscoring the Riptide 8-4 in the second half, while the team’s defense held the Riptide offense to just 33 shots on goal throughout the game.

The Riptide saw their two-game win streak snapped at two, while the Warriors’ win streak improves to five games. With the loss, the Riptide drop to 10th in the NLL standings.

The Riptide will take on the Albany FireWolves in their final home game of the regular season at the Nassau Coliseum.
