A Statement From The New York Riptide

It has been a fun 2023-24 season thus far for the New York Riptide and we are fully committed and excited for a potential playoff run! Before we continue, we would be remiss if we did not first acknowledge how appreciative we are of your loyalty and unwavering support of the New York Riptide.

With that being said, it is with mixed emotions that we inform our fans of the franchise’s decision to relocate to Ottawa, Ontario at the conclusion of the 2023-24 NLL season. Beginning in the 2024-25 NLL season, the New York Riptide will play at the Canadian Tire Centre, home of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators. On behalf of the entire organization, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Long Island community. For the past five years, we have had the honor of calling Long Island our home and the privilege of playing at the iconic Nassau Coliseum.

We are sincerely appreciative of every fan who has attended, or watched, a game and supported our organization in any manner. The New York Riptide are eternally grateful for the loyalty shown from the local lacrosse faithful who were with us from our inception and remained by our side to watch us grow.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal community partners, especially Orlin & Cohen, for their unwavering support throughout our journey. Most importantly, we want to express our deepest gratitude to you, the fans, who have been the heart and soul of this team. Your support, passion, and dedication have been the driving force behind our success.

The relationships we have forged over the last five years remain a priority for us and despite our relocation, our commitment to the Long Island lacrosse community remains unwavering.

The grassroots lacrosse efforts we created with the Long Island community have been truly exceptional.

Following the conclusion of the 2023-24 NLL season, we will continue to actively engage with youth lacrosse programs, donate equipment to local clubs, and contribute to the growth and development of the sport in the area.
