New York Riptide Sign Kieran McArdle To One-Year Contract

Uniondale, NY (August 3, 2021) – The New York Riptide have signed forward Kieran McArdle to a one-year contract, the team announced today. The deal is pending league approval.

Per team policy, no terms were released.

A four-year NLL veteran, McArdle appeared in 12 games for the Riptide last season, totaling 20 points on 10 goals and 10 assists, and scooping 15 loose balls. The Ronkonkoma, New York native attended Connetquot High School, and was a three-time All-American and a two-time BIG EAST Player of the Year at St John’s University.

“First off, Kieran’s character is his greatest asset and contribution to our team,” Riptide General Manager Jim Veltman said. “He is a gifted offensive player that has the ability to play solid defense as well. His versatility makes this a quality signing for our organization.”

In the outdoor game, McArdle was the 5^th overall pick in the 2014 MLL Collegiate Draft, picked by the Florida Launch. After making the transition to Premier Lacrosse League in 2019, during the 2019 PLL season, McArdle registered 27 points with a total of 13 goals for Atlas LC. He was then selected 7^th overall by Waterdogs LC in the 2020 Expansion Draft. McArdle scored eight goals and added six assists in just five games in the PLL Championship Series.

The Riptide will return to Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum for the franchise’s second season this December.
