Riptide Sign Forward Colton Lidstone

Uniondale, NY (June 6th, 2023) – The New York Riptide announced today that the team has signed right-handed forward Colton Lidstone to a two-year contract.

Lidstone, who was drafted in the first-round of the 2022 NLL Entry Draft 21st overall by Panther City, was acquired via trade with Panther City in January of 2023. The Cowichan Valley, BC native played his junior lacrosse with the Nanaimo Timbermen of the BCJALL, and is currently in his second season of Sr. A lacrosse with the Nanaimo Timbermen of the WLA. The 24-year-old played his collegiate lacrosse career with the DI Robert Morris Colonials where he was a team captain. Lidstone, a midfielder, appeared in 56 games, scored 20 goals and added 25 assists during his parts of five seasons with the Colonials.

“I’m just excited for the opportunity to join the Riptide,” said Lidstone. “It is a young group with a bright future and I can’t wait to be a part of that. It has always been a dream to play in the NLL and I’m looking forward to my first training camp.”

“We are excited to get Colton signed to a multi-year deal,” said Riptide GM & EVP Rich Lisk. “Colton was a big piece of our trade with Panther City and we expect him to make an impact with our organization. He’s currently playing in Nanaimo with our western scout Jon Nicholson, so we can track his progress coming into the season.”
