New York, NY (July 21, 2020) – The New York Riptide announced today that the team has acquired the rights to defenseman Adrian Sorichetti and a second round selection in the 2020 NLL Entry Draft in exchange for Tyson Bomberry and a fifth round pick in the 2020 NLL Entry Draft.
Sorichetti, selected 13th overall in the 2013 NLL Entry Draft by the then-Edmonton Rush, has played in 90 career games over six seasons and won three NLL titles with the Rush. In 2019, he had 11 points on five goals and six assists in 18 games for the Seals to go along with 60 loose ball pickups and 13 caused turnovers. For his career, the 6-foot lefthander has recorded 64 points on 35 goals and 29 assists while scooping up 330 loose balls and causing 87 turnovers.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to potentially have Adrian in a Riptide uniform,” Riptide General Manager Jim Veltman said. “He is a veteran in the league who will bring championship experience to the team, is solid defensively, and good in transition. I’d like to thank Tyson and wish him success with the Seals.”
Selected 10th overall in the 2019 NLL Entry Draft, Bomberry saw action in 11 games in his rookie season. He had one assist to go along with 29 loose balls and four caused turnovers.
